After graduating in 1982 with a History and Geography double major, this New Ulm commuter-student went on to work as a travel agent and tour operator for 16 years (mainly in Rochester.) After moving back to New Ulm in 1995 with his family, he was the Tourism Manager for the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce until retiring in 2014 at age 60. He came back to Minnesota State Mankato in January of 2017 to work on a master’s in History to be used toward writing local history better and more professionally. He has noticed quite a few changes on campus in 35 years, but still enjoys the environment of learning at “The Harvard of the Midwest.”
